Is there a FERPA-equivalent posture for student data?

For university and school customers, AIzaadi treats learner records under PDPA-2023 with FERPA-style consent and parental access controls.

Pakistan does not have a FERPA statute. For education buyers (universities, schools, training colleges), AIzaadi applies a FERPA-equivalent posture under PDPA-2023:

  • Parental consent for under-18 learners
  • Learner-controlled disclosure of grades to third parties
  • Directory information opt-out
  • 7-year retention for academic records, learner-initiated deletion outside that window

The institutional buyer remains the data controller and signs a DPA accordingly.
