Lowercase 't' is taller than other small letters but shorter than 'l' and 'h'. It sits in between. Children either make it as short as 'i' or as tall as 'l'. Show the three together so the height ladder is visible. The cross bar is added at the end. Many children draw it first, which makes the line below feel disconnected. Always do the down stroke first, then cross.
