Draw the same curl as jeem, cheem, and ha. Start at the upper right shoulder, sweep down and to the left, drop below the baseline, then rise to a soft point on the left.

خ closes the curl family. Teach it after ج, چ, ح so your child sees the full set: dot inside (ج), three dots inside (چ), no dot (ح), dot above (خ). The /x/ sound is from the back of the throat. Have your child say khuda or khat slowly while drawing so the sound and shape pair up. Stroke timing is approximate.

The /x/ sound is hard to make and just as hard to recognise. When your child both says it and writes it, name both wins: "You made the sound from the back of your throat, and you put the dot above. That is khe."
