ن carries /n/. There is also a related letter ں (noon ghunna) which marks nasalisation; it has no dot. The pair is taught together: regular noon ن with dot vs noon-ghunna ں without dot. Children initially confuse them. Show the difference using گاؤں (gaaon, village, with noon-ghunna at end) vs گین (gain, with regular noon). Stroke timings approximate.

Noticing when ں goes at the end (nasalised) vs ن in the middle (consonantal) is real reading skill. Praise the noticing.
