For parents

گ is one of the six letters Urdu added to the Persian-Arabic script (پ ٹ چ ڈ ژ گ). It carries /g/, the sound at the start of گھر (home), گلاب (rose), گاؤں (village). The /g/ sound did not exist in classical Arabic, which is why a new letter was needed when the script adapted to Persian and then Urdu. Tell the child: 'this letter belongs to our language family, our writing system added it.' Stroke timings approximate.

When she writes گھر correctly, she is writing a letter that her own language created. Name the inheritance.
