  1. Where AI has practical value today. One: pest and disease detection from a phone photo. Two: irrigation timing based on soil moisture and weather. Three: crop yield estimation from satellite imagery. Four: market price forecasting at harvest time. Five: voice or text advisory in Urdu and regional languages. Six: farmer registration and Kissan Card eligibility checks at provincial level. Each is small individually and adds up across millions of farmers.

  2. Pakistani institutions that matter. Punjab Agriculture Department and AARI Faisalabad. Pakistan Agricultural Research Council. National Agriculture Research Centre. SUPARCO for satellite imagery. PMD for weather. State Bank for agricultural credit policy. Telcos for SMS and voice rails. World Bank, FAO, and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation back several pilots. Connecting your project to one of these multiplies its reach.

  3. Channels that already reach farmers. Lady extension workers in Punjab. Telco USSD menus from Jazz and Telenor. WhatsApp groups run by progressive farmers. FM radio programs in Punjabi, Sindhi, and Pashto. Provincial helpline numbers. Picking a channel the farmer already uses costs less than building a new app that nobody opens twice.

Three honest constraints. Connectivity is patchy in rural Sindh and most of Balochistan. Many farmers do not read comfortably; voice and image matter more than text. Land holdings are often small, fragmented, and informally documented; satellite based per-field analytics need cadastral data the country does not yet have in clean form. Design around these realities rather than wishing them away.
