Practical exercise
Paint with red, black, and white only; name the feeling
Most starter painters drown in twelve colours. Today you have only three: red, black, white. From these three you can make pink, dark red, grey, off white, dusty rose, blood maroon, smoky pink. The point of the exercise is not what you paint; it is to notice that mixing two colours gives a feeling, not just a shade. You will name three feelings on the page.

Now try it
Paint with red, black, and white only; name the feeling
Stretch
Repeat with a different three colour palette: yellow, blue, white. Notice how the feelings shift entirely; yellow plus white is sunlight, blue plus white is winter sky. Same exercise, opposite mood.
Goes into your portfolio
The 6 box A4 sheet with the three feeling words written under boxes 4, 5, 6 in both languages, plus the small free image painted on the back using one chosen feeling.
