Listening loop: a one week repeat-back game with a parent

Most family fights in Pakistani households happen because both sides are loading their next sentence while the other is talking. The fix is mechanical: before you reply, you say back what the other person just said in their words. It feels strange for two days, then it becomes a quiet superpower. This week you will run the loop with one parent for seven evenings.

Stretch

Run the loop on the family member you find hardest, possibly a strict uncle, a critical older sister, a sas if you are married into a household. Do not announce. Just hold the loop for one week. Note what changes.

Goes into your portfolio

Seven dated notebook entries (photographs are fine), one per evening, each containing: the topic of one loop, your repeat-back sentence in your own words, your parent's correction or confirmation, and one surprise from the day.
