By Friday this week you will have a bank account in your own name with your own CNIC, no minimum balance, a free debit card on the way, and your IBAN saved in your phone. The whole thing takes one afternoon if you walk into the right branch with the right answer to three questions. We will rehearse the script.

Once your debit card arrives by courier in 7 to 10 days, activate it via the bank app or by calling the helpline. Use it once at any ATM to withdraw 1,000 rupees, just to feel the loop close. The first withdrawal is symbolic. Keep the receipt.
