Electrical safety audit: photograph the hazards in your home
Pakistan loses dozens of lives every year to home electrical fires and shocks, mostly from problems that any teenager could have spotted. Loose plugs, cracked extension cords, geyser wiring near water, multi-plugs stacked on multi-plugs. Today you walk through your own home with a camera and a checklist and document every hazard. You are not fixing anything yet; you are just learning to see. The fixes come in a follow-up with an electrician.

Repeat the audit at one extended-family home (a phupho's house, a nana ji's house, your maamu's flat). Most older homes have 10 to 20 hazards. Your audit may be the first the family has seen and could prevent an actual fire.

A two part document: page one is your single page audit (numbered hazards, rooms, categories, counts), and page two is a contact sheet of all the hazard photographs labelled by number, plus before/after pairs for the three that were fixed.
