Practical exercise

Write a five line note to your future self

The first step in handling pressure is naming it on paper, where it cannot grow in the dark. Today you spend 15 minutes writing five short lines to yourself, sealing them, and reading them again exactly seven days later. The exercise is small. The effect, repeated, is large. Pakistani culture rarely gives a young person space to write in their own voice. This is that space.

Write a five line note to your future self

Stretch

After your fourth note, share one of the five lines (any one you choose) with one trusted person. A sibling, a chosen sangat friend, the older cousin who looks out for you. The act of saying one line out loud, after writing it four times, makes it real outside your head. Some Pakistanis cry the first time they say one of these lines aloud; that is the body releasing what the mind had carried alone for too long.

Goes into your portfolio

A photograph of three weekly five line notes, side by side, dated. You do not need to share the contents publicly; the artifact is the discipline of having written three weeks in a row. Keep the originals private.
