Practical exercise
Verify the helpline number, once, while it is calm
Most people who needed Umang Pakistan in the worst moment of their life did not call, because in that moment they were not sure if the number was real, if anyone would pick up, or if they would be judged. The fix for that is shockingly simple. Call once now, when nothing is wrong, and verify all three. The call is anonymous, free, and takes around five minutes. After this practical, the number is no longer a rumour in your phone. It is a verified rope, hanging where you can find it on a dark night.

Now try it
Verify the helpline number, once, while it is calm
Stretch
Two weeks after the first call, when life is normal, call once more, this time for a real ten minute conversation about something real but not catastrophic. A heavy week at college, a fight with a sibling, anything. The point is to stretch the muscle of using the helpline as a tool, not just as a glass-break-in-emergency. The volunteers welcome these calls. Their training is built for them.
