Practical exercise
Prepare and rehearse one honest conversation with a parent
The hardest 30 minutes of your year may be the conversation with Ami or Abu about something real. Today you do not have the conversation. You prepare for it. You write the script, you anticipate the four most likely reactions, you rehearse with a chosen sangat friend or the bathroom mirror, and you set a date for the actual conversation in the next two weeks. Preparation cuts the conversation's failure rate by half.

Now try it
Prepare and rehearse one honest conversation with a parent
Stretch
If after rehearsal you decide the parent is not safe to have this conversation with right now (some parents are not), that is also a valid outcome. Switch the audience to a trusted older relative: a chacha, a phuppi, an older cousin who has emotional capacity. The conversation can still happen, just with a different first listener. The parent conversation can come later, when the family system has more support around it.
Goes into your portfolio
Your written 90 second opening, the four anticipated reactions and your responses, the date and place of the planned conversation, and the names of the chosen sangat friend who rehearsed with you and the trusted person you will call after. Keep the script private; the artifact is the existence of the preparation, not its contents.
