Practical exercise
Track one month of the rupee, oil, and remittances
Macroeconomics becomes real the moment you collect the data with your own hands instead of reading someone else's chart. For 30 days you are going to write down three numbers a day: the open market rupee dollar rate, the petrol price in Pakistan, and the latest weekly remittance figure published by the State Bank. By the end you will have your own evidence based intuition for how Pakistan's economy actually moves.

Now try it
Track one month of the rupee, oil, and remittances
Stretch
After day 30, write a 600 word essay titled 'What I now believe about the Pakistani economy that I did not believe a month ago'. Submit it to the Polymath cohort thread or your own blog. The essay is the proof that the data became understanding.
Goes into your portfolio
Your 30 day data sheet (PDF or screenshot), the three line charts, and a 400 word reflection on the patterns you observed and what surprised you most.
