Practical exercise
Capstone, one page bilingual synthesis from five sources
This is the capstone of the reading comprehension unit. You will pick one specific Pakistani question, find five varied sources, read each carefully, and produce one tight page in Urdu and one tight page in English answering the question with evidence. The page is short. The work behind it is not.

Now try it
Capstone, one page bilingual synthesis from five sources
Stretch
Repeat the capstone four times in a year, on four different Pakistani questions. Build a folder of eight pages, four English and four Urdu. By the fourth, your reading week will look fundamentally different from a peer who only does textbook reading.
Goes into your portfolio
Two one page bilingual syntheses titled capstone-NN-en and capstone-NN-ur saved in the reading capstone folder, each containing the specific question, context paragraph, evidence paragraph with inline citations from five sources, judgement paragraph, and a closing line of remaining uncertainty, plus a small cover sheet with question, date, and one sentence verdict.
