The two arms of 'k' must meet at one point. Children often draw them as separate, disconnected lines, which makes the letter look like a 'l' with floating sticks. Practise drawing 'k' by first making the vertical line, then placing a finger at the middle of that line, and drawing both arms out from that finger. The single meeting point is the personality of the letter.
