Lowercase 'l' is one of the simplest shapes to draw, but the most confused. Children mistake it for a capital I, a number 1, or a tall lowercase i. The fix is to always pair 'l' with its neighbours when practising. Write 'lit', 'lid', 'lap'. Ask the child: which is the tall one? They learn through comparison, not isolation.

One straight line. That is it. Sometimes the simplest letter is the one that holds the most words. Lahore, learn, light, life. All standing on a single stroke.
