's' is one of the most reversed letters for young writers, alongside 'b' and 'z'. The fix is to anchor the start point. Always begin at the top right, never the top left. Trace 's' in the air with your finger before writing on paper. If your child reverses 's', do not scold. Reversal is a stage of normal development up to age seven or eight. Just gently keep guiding the start point.

's' is a snake, smooth and curved. Trace it slowly. The slower the snake, the more graceful the line.
